STORYSTAR
There are times that I'm thankful for knowing so many other authors and people in the publishing world; that's how I find out about places like Netbound (who published 'Solitary') and StoryStar.
StoryStar publishes short stories online, for free. They invite you to read and review stories, and even write your own if you feel up to the challenge. But I'm not writing because of you; I'm writing now to tell you about ME. I've put a few short stories (unpublished elsewhere) to read.

Unwanted Room
Creature of the Night
On A Quiet Stretch Of Road
The stories are listed under the 'mystery' theme for the time being; but feel free to browse other stories (and don't forget to rate what you read; better ratings get showcased).

Notification of changes
This information isn't truly important to readers, but I thought to share it with you regardless. The publisher of the Dark Heritage Saga books has made alterations to their distribution network. What this means for me; it'll be more cost-effective to expand book distribution. What this means for you...
NOTHING! The books will still be available where they were previously located (sadly, Borders will no longer be an option). All future books published through Createspace will likewise be available and these locations; and of course all published books and e-book only books are available from Smashwords.
Please, enjoy.

January 2012 updates
If you're reading, you've already seen two updates to the website (Banner, look up; Author photo, look right) but I assure you, there's more. First, the Author Bio has been updated and a link to the estore for The Keeper's Gate is on the book's page (the book is not available yet, I'll save that for another post).
I'll remind everyone, the store has a lot of interesting items. Everything from elves and skulls to bio-chem waste and zombies is there; plus much more. I bought a few christmas gifts from the store, and all were accepted with a thrill.
Realistically though, there isn't much else going on. But expect more soon as The Keeper's Gate enters the last part of its journey.

New in the store!!!
In time for the holidays several new things have been added to the SHOP; so I recommend checking it out. Of course there is stuff that doesn't require a holiday to get; but the new 2012 Calendars are special (and not that expensive).

Happy Turkey Day... or Happy Last Thursday of November
So the month is coming to an end, anyone surprised by that? Time does fly, unfortunately, which means authors get very stressed over deadlines. Deadlines. Isn't that a really positive word, makes everyone want one

But November's biggest deadline, 50,000 words before the beginning of December, is complete! I passed the 50,000 word count earlier in the week (much to my disappointment, it took WAY too long) and the story is not done. But it's close. I'd like to predict somewhere around 65,000 words, but that's just a guess and not a target. But it's almost over, meaning the dreaded process of editing will begin.

As for my other release, Horrorscope; it just needs one final small edit before it goes off to the presses. Just two numbers need to be changed in the contents; I plan on submitting the final-final version to be published within a week or so; plenty of time for Christmas shopping.
Celebrate what you will, or won't, and get ready for the winter. If you or a friend is in need of a good book to read while sitting near the fire, I recommend the Dark Heritage Saga.

NaNoWriMo Time
It's that time of the year again; 30 days to write 50,000 words. Which means that I've officially begun writing 'The Keeper's Gate,' the 4th book in the Dark Heritage Saga. The characters are all back for the next part of the adventure. Now that I think about it, there had better be a 2013, or I'll be the only person that knows how the last book (The Blood Fields, tentative at this point) ends up. Maybe I'll write that book in the spring and try to have it out by our final X-mas.
How does that sound?
Be sure to visit the Nano site at http://www.nanowrimo.org; and if you're participating I wish you the best of luck.

All Hail October
October has to be one of the most exciting months for fantasy and horror writers. Our big holiday is coming, I'm of course speaking of Halloween. Where I live, the month comes rushing in with the local Berlin Fair (which is admittedly aimed towards children, but they sell beer) and the weather changes. It's going to rain today and likely the next few days, but that's the punishment of New England. That's right, I live in that magical world where the leaves turn orange and spur people to travel to a region they'd otherwise ignore; then I get to watch them turn brown and fall to the ground dead. Then comes the snow, but hopefully that's a month away.
Now if you've survived my rant I'll get on to the writing. Why else would you be here; if you wanted to know about other stuff you'd just check out my Facebook page. So continue on.
When Halloween passes, November comes. That means NaNoWriMo and the first draft of the next book in the Dark Heritage Saga. I already know what's going to happen, but don't expect me to tell you. But with all likelihood, the fourth book in the series will be available in February 2012.
As for other stuff, I've written several short stories and compiled them into a collection. Hopefully this will be available by Christmas, so you can gift this to people. It was inspired by 'Solitary' and its inclusion in I Believe In Werewolves; sometimes it is easier writing a short story than trying to stretch an idea out to novel-length. But there's other stuff on the word-processor right now including a dinosaur story I've been wanting to write for several years. I also have the outline done for a revised version of my first "book," 'Creatures Of The Night.'
There is eventually an ebook version of my writing; everything I've submitted is now available on all e-reader devices including the Kindle and Nook, all for prices much lower than the print version. There is also a free ebook there, my first non-fiction book about ghost-hunting and how to do it. If you want an example of some of my writing, check it out; it won't cost you a penny.
I'm sure there's more that I could bore you with, but that's all for now. Remember to check back to the website for any updates. Expect visual updates soon as new things are published.

September Updates
Well it has been a while since I posted anything; most of what I write here is about my books and I'm between books at the moment. But don't fear, I've got words for you to read.
First, I'm happy with the show Terra-Nova on Fox. If you haven't seen it, you should. It's just beginning but so far it seems like they've taken their time with the show.
Second, I can't believe that you're still reading; I have books available if you want to read more of my writings.
Speaking of writings, I've written several short stories which I'm putting in a collection, hopefully to be out by the end of the year. It includes the short that started the dominoes, Solitary, which was published by Netbound Publishing in their I Believe In Werewolves anthology.
In keeping with tradition, I won't be starting the fourth book in the Dark Heritage Saga (The Keeper's Gate) for another month, so you have plenty of time to read what I've already released. And for your convenience (and your bank account's convenience) everything I've published is available for digital download.

E-Books
I've adjusted the prices of my e-books to make them more appealing and cost efficient. I know how much an e-reader costs; I can't imagine a person wants to pay a lot for a book. The novels are now $4.99 available from most e-book distributors.
My short story 'Solitary' is now available for e-book purchase for $2.99 only on Smashwords.com. The full anthology 'I Believe In Werewolves' is available in both print and e-book format.
